Iowa high school wrestling has the state championships on the line with the IAHSAA Individual Tournament today.

It is high school wrestling championship season in the midwest with the best wrestlers in Iowa all looking to be crowned as the best in their weight class and the best in the state overall. After a few days of action with the early rounds, the quarterfinals and the semifinals, the state championships are on the line today. Every wrestler from their weight class will have the opportunity to punch their tickets into local immortality on their way to wrestling in college, professionally and potentially the Olympic games in the not-so-distant future. First, though, they must win their high school wrestling matchups today.

Mikey Baker punched his ticket to the finals with a win in the state semifinal match against Karter Decker in the 145-pound weight class.

All of the actions started on Wednesday, where the three classes, 1A, 2A and 3A, all started off with the first round of matches.

Since then, all three classes pushed onto the quarterfinals on Thursday and the semifinals on Friday, leaving the consolation matches and the championship matches for all weight classes and divisions on the line today.
